Joined Strips of Fabric

This is another other cool thing an Embellisher can do - I cut strips of fabric, overlapped the raw edges slightly, then ran the machine over them to join the fabric, it creates a lovely lacey join. I added ribbons of organza, (the poly type goes on with lots of thread pulling so it appears very gauzy), and nylon ribbon which joins to the fabric with a puckered effect, really fun. I'm going to use this piece as a background for silk ribbon embroidery and beading.

Love this idea! Where did you purchase your machine from? I can't find one . . . sadly! I have an attachment that isn't working as well as I'd like it to.

Hey Gail!
I got my machine from the kiosk at Joanns Fabric - before I bought it I Googled and found you can get the Janome easily through the mail, but since this one was local I got it.
